Origins of the Pixiu
The Pixiu is said to be descended from a dragon and a qilin (麒麟) (a Chinese mythical creature also known as the “Chinese Unicorn”). The dragon represents Yang energy, while the qilin represents Yin energy. Together, they symbolize balance and harmony – two essential concepts in Feng Shui. Pixiu is believed to be the 9th off spring of the dragon.
Many drawings of the Pixiu includes symbol of wealth, power and protection. As shown above
The creature first appeared in literature during the Han Dynasty (206 BC – 220 AD), where it was described as a strong and ferocious beast that had the head of a dragon, the body of a horse, and the tail of a lion. In ancient times, the Pixiu was considered to be a powerful protector against evil spirits, and it was often used in amulets and talismans to ward off evil.
The Meaning of the Pixiu
The Chinese character for “Pixiu” (貔貅) is actually made up of two parts: “Pi” (貔), which means to “ward off” or “protect”; and “Xiu” (貅), which means “auspicious” or “lucky”. Together, the character symbolizes a creature that wards off evil spirits and brings good luck.
The Pixiu is also associated with the Chinese concept of yin and yang. The Pixiu is said to have the head of a dragon (a Yang symbol) and the body of a lion (a Yin symbol). Together, they represent the perfect balance of Yin and Yang energy.

The legend goes that the Pixiu was once a powerful dragon that flew too close to the sun and was scorched by its heat. As a result, it lost its ability to fly and could only walk on the ground. However, the dragon’s powerful Yang energy was so great that it continued to draw cai qi (財氣 wealth) from the earth, even without wings.
The Pixiu as a Feng Shui Symbol
In Feng Shui, the Pixiu is considered to be a powerful symbol of wealth and prosperity. It’s said to have the ability to draw in good luck and fortune from all directions, making it an essential guardian for homes and businesses.
The most popular placement for the Pixiu is at the entrance of a building, where it can “swallow” incoming negative energy and prevent it from entering the premises. It’s also said to be helpful for those who are looking for a new job or promotion, as it can attract good luck and opportunities.
The Pixiu is also a popular gift to give to friends and family members, as it symbolizes good luck and fortune. If you’re looking for a unique and meaningful gift, consider giving a Pixiu statue or charm.
Pixiu have always been regarded as auspicious creatures that possessed mystical powers capable of drawing cai qi (財氣 literally meaning: wealth air) from all directions, and according to the Chinese zodiac, it is especially helpful for those who are going through a bad year. Pi Xiu is the ninth offspring of the dragon. Pi Xiu craves the smell of gold and silver and it likes to bring his master money in his mouth. Statues of this creature are often used to attract wealth in feng shui.

Why jade jewelry?
Jade is a beautiful and unique stone that has been treasured for centuries. Unlike other stones, jade is not simply one mineral, but is actually a type of metamorphic rock. This means that it is formed when another type of rock is subjected to intense heat and pressure. As a result, jade can vary greatly in terms of color, hardness, and appearance. However, the most valuable type of jade is a green variety known as Imperial Jade. This stone is incredibly rare and difficult to find, which makes it extremely valuable. Unfortunately, there are many fake stones on the market that are made from cheaper materials such as glass or plastic. These imitations may look similar to real jade, but they lack the beauty, durability, and value of the real thing. So if you're looking for a special and unique piece of jewelry, be sure to only buy real jade.
